We will dive right in to creating (layering the flora onto our goods, of course) and begin processing the prints. While the bundles enjoy their first bath, we will back up to learn about plants, fabrics, tools, and processing methods. The evening will wrap up with preparing custom labels (pre-printed with your name) to affix to your finished goods.

Class starts with the delightful experience of unrolling your bundles. Marvel at your finished work as we add the finishing touches. Class will wrap up with some Hapazome fun. Hapazome is a printing technique involving plant material and rubber mallets - not only is it great stress relief, but it will create attractive patterns and color quickly. Hapazome is a more temporary application of colour so we will use this process for creating gift cards and gift wrap.
Goods will be prepped for dying by Jenna before class. This involves scouring (to remove any sneaky oils), resting, mordanting (to prepare the fiber to accept dye), and resting. Contact Jenna if you are interested in joining in this preparation process.
